Wild Thing
| Our main goal is to help educate horse owners and to try to keep the horse with its owner if possible. And several times this has been a success. Owners had fallen on hard times, needed help getting back on their feet with a little feed and things turn out positive for the horse, the owner, and the over crowded rescue not having to take more horses. Unfortunately sometimes that's not the case no matter how much help is given it's a bad situation for the horses and they have to be removed. Because rescues are over crowed help often comes too late. After several attempts to help the owner of Wild Thing with her horses it still turned out tragic for Wild Thing. I got the call on 02-08-2011 that Wild Thing was emaciated and down unable to protect herself from dogs she was viciously attacked while alive. Literally being eaten alive. The owner has been charged and arrested with 5 counts of animal cruelty. It's hard for me to understand the questioning phone call " Why are you taking my horses?" |

| This was Wild Thing when she left Have a Heart on 5/02/2010 to return to her owner. Which was not by our choice I offered to buy her, tried talking her owner into just leaving her with us.
