This mom and son. We call the stud champ because he stands up on his back feet and boxes. Better than any professional boxer I've ever seem. We call the mare Mama. I've been dealing with the owner for about 3 -4 weeks before we finally took the two. Our first attempt is to help the owner get back on track and to get some weight back on the horses even if it means we have help supply the food for a while. But sometimes the horses just can't stay where they are. And that was the case here.Champ was in a stall all his life. The boards across his entrance was nailed shut. No way out. Both horses was standing in MUCK and lots of it. One of the guys that helped us remove these two said it was like being in prison with no family to come see you, no food nothing to look forward to ,no one to help you. Champ was a baby when he was put there and left. This truly makes me cry.. Just standing there day in and day out for three years. I can't even imagine. We have a baby at h.a.h. He runs and jumps, kicks, loves , grooms his mama. My heart breaks for all this baby missed. It rained today for the first time since we've had them. I told Cody I'll bet this is the first time Champ has felt rain on him. Wonder what he's thinking about it. We'll keep you up dated on these two.
Update (10-30-08) on Mama and Champ their adoption is pending as of 10-18-08. The adoption fee has been put up but the paperwork is not complete. I added new pictures of them will add more later. They are gaining weight doing well. If paper work gets completed and all is well , they will both be going to the same home.
