These photos of Henry Ford were taken 5 days after his rescue. They show the new pink skin growing under the huge pressure sore scabs. Pressure sores happen when a horse lays down for long periods of time.
In Henry's case, it was days because he didn't have the strength to rise because he had gone too long without proper nutrition. The other horses in the herd were moved before HAHHR showed up. Henry was left to die because he wouldn't load in the trailer. Apparently, it was too much trouble for the owner to Do the Right Thing.
