This is Mississippi Cowboy. He came to us out of Lee county on 8-17-08. Cowboy is blind and had a very bad untreated wound on his left hind leg. Because he is a special needs horse he needs a special home that's where Cowboy's good friend Captain comes in. After talking to Captain's mom on the phone ( Christine Barrett-Distefano they are with Amaryllis Farms Equine Rescue.Inc.) Christine and Captain decided to sponsor Cowboy for $150.00 a month. We were excited as we are only a little over a year old and of course struggling like everyone, when Christine and Captain really knocked our socks off. Christine e-mails us asking what we really needed ( not good to ask cuz we gave her a list a mile long) About 10 days later it was CHRISTMAS at have a heart's barn we got boxes and boxes of things. We got wormers we got probias, we got a horse blanket, halters, lead ropes feed buckets, brushes, combs, I can't even tell you everything .But the most important thing we received from Christine and Captain is LOVE AND FRIENDSHIP. Captain sends Cowboy's hugs through e-mail often. I can't even begin to tell how many times I've emailed and gotten encouragement to keep going from Christine. We have been truly blessed by the presents of these two in our lives Thanks you so much isn't enough so Mississippi Cowboy is sending you a big sloppy kiss and much love to go with it. Thanks again to Christine and Captain. (Hope there's room for Cowboy someday at your barn,) CHRISTINE SUFFERED THE LOSS OF CAPTAIN ON 01-17-2009 AT 8:00 A.M. YOU WILL BE GREATLY MISSED CAPTAIN, UNTIL WE SEE YOU IN HEAVEN , WE LOVE YOU.
